We are a charitable organization committed to improving the lives of those in need. Our volunteers and donors work tirelessly to provide support and resources to those who need it most. We invite you to learn more about our mission and how you can get involved. Thank you for visiting Wings of Change!
Wings of Change (WOC) is committed to helping senior groups of the elderly and those graduating from high school.
We connect with organizations that benefit the elderly and provide further assistance where possible and feasible. We connect with high schools to seek out graduating seniors who are deserving of scholarships and make them available through the perspective guidance counseling offices.
By assisting these groups, we are an integral part of the organization of charities that strive to enhance the lives of those that have contributed to our society, and those lives that are poised to contribute to our society.
"Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness."---Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We believe in the one true God, Jehovah. The name Jehovah is a Latinization of the name YHWY, God's personal name, as He revealed it to the Hebrews. He supplied this name to His people partly to set Himself apart as the One true God among the many gods who were being worshipped in the culture. YHWY is what is called the Tetragrammaton by the Greeks, or "four letters." The literal meaning of the name is "I am the one who is" (Dictionary.com) or, more simply, "I Am." This short definition carries a sense of the eternal. In other words, God was, God is, God will always be. Seen in light of Scripture, it also hints at His all-present nature: seeing, knowing, and actually being with us.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of the virgin Mary, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of His Father.
We believe that God is the designer, creator, and upholder of all things. God Sustains all things and He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17); the bible teaches that God not only created the universe but that he upholds and sustains it day by day, hour by hour. Scripture says that Christ, the son of God, upholds the universe by the word of his power.
We believe that Christ is the head of the Church. Christ, the Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:21-22) Paul declares that Jesus is the head of the Church, which is His body. As believers, we must remember that if Christ is indeed the head, it means that we must come under His authority and leadership, that we look like Him and have His life and character (DNA), and that we must come to Him for our provision and life.
We believe in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Communion of Saints.
We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God.
We believe the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament and that both books are relevant.
“God wrote the Bible.” The Holy Spirit moved prophets like Moses and apostles like Paul to write about God’s relationship with the world (1 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21). About 40 people wrote the Bible. The individual books were written by many authors over many years in many places to many different people groups.
We believe in heaven and hell and that salvation is a gift from God by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in prayer.
We believe in tithing and offerings.
We believe in the Sabbath, 7th day of rest set during creation week.
We believe in singing and praising with songs and instruments.
We believe in the original intent of marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe in circumcision.
We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after acceptance and confession.
Of course, Jesus died on the cross on a hill called Calvary and arose from the grave. However, the merging of pagan practices such as eggs, bunnies, and the word 'easter' itself stems from the pagan goddess called Ishtar. Also, the word Easter is associated with Saxon origin, Eastra, the goddess of spring, in whose honor sacrifices were offered about Passover time each year.
Confession, constraint, and fasting should be done at all times. Also, these days are associated with Easter.
Around the world, Christmas is by far the most popular single holiday. Nine out of ten people say that they celebrate Christmas even those who proclaim to be atheists. So, what are they celebrating? While we love the joyous times and the generous giving during this time of year and do not object to those who celebrate the holiday, we do not recognize the holiday in our hearts, mind, nor our facility. No decorations or services are held in honor of this holiday at the WOC facility.
Jesus was not born on December 25 (winter solstice). Scripture does not tell us the date, but if we work back from Jesus' ministry and the birth of John the Baptist, the forerunner for King Jesus, it will put his birth somewhere around September when the shepherds would still be out in the fields.
They were given to the Jewish Nation. It is a personal choice for Christians.
Indulgences, priest confessionals, rosary beads, purgatory, Mary as a deity, the apocrypha, and many ways to God. These practices are not biblical. In fact, some appear blasphemous.
We love you and pray for the best for you always.
